MBLEM born Richard McCarthy is an emerging new Singer / deejay, which writes his own music and has a unique sound that will add flavor to reggae/dancehall music. With one of his hobbies being; listening to the music and playing the keyboard, all early indications suggested that music was always a part of his life.

The name MBLEM came from the English word ‘emblem’ which means a sign or symbol of a thing, and in respect, MBLEM means a sign and symbol of good music. His signature slogan ‘Mafia’ has caught the attention of quite a number of listeners. Meaning family, the word mafia for Mblem, symbolizes loyalty among people surrounding his career and life. As a source of inspiration Bob Marley, Buju Banton, and Sizzla’s music are listed, although all forms and era of music are appreciated in more ways than one.

The rapid development of his craft is as a result of his attitude toward recording and ensuring that he only does quality music. Teaming up with ATTRIUM MUSIC and VISION HOUSE RECORDS, with the rhythm and beat mastermind Askelle, Mblem has become a very fast developing synergy. It has made it easier to match instruments to poetry to create happy and meaningful music that will appeal to the world.
