Robert Treadway / Bio

Robert is a country music writer based out of Batesville, AR. Robert Treadway has been a songwriter since the age of fifteen. In 1989, he was introduced to the world of recording at nineteen years of age. From a little studio in Crozet, VA, he recorded a few songs, among which, Think of Us received his first radio air-play.

From that moment, Robert was hooked to songwriting and hasn’t slowed down. His second song to receive airplay was Tammy Lee in 1991. Just three years later, Robert teamed up with his friend Franz Evans and his band Shattered Illusions to write and record Image in the Mirror. Shortly after, Evans was seriously injured in a car accident prompting Robert to take a year long break from music.

In 1996, Robert teamed up with singer, songwriter and friend Ken Smith with whom he released his first two albums, The Ghost in Me (2005) and Running in Circles (2007). The two albums were sold at Hastings Entertainment in Batesville, AR, Robert’s home town.

Following the recording of his third album, Highways and Heartaches (2008), Robert made his way to Nashville, TN with a month’s worth of pay and a heart full of dreams.

Robert joined the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) in the winter of 2010 and began working with such talented musicians as Buddy Hyatt who was a member of the 80's band Toto.

Robert has always believed that you must follow your dreams, and song writing is one he has been following all of his life. To that end he claims, “Dare to dream, live to love and laugh a little along the way. Make your life what you want it to be because you only get one shot at it.”
