Originally from Seattle, Shawn migrated to Brooklyn in the summer of 2010. Since teaching himself guitar, he's been writing music as a way to expel emotions, as a form of journal. Everything in his music stems from some life experience and then takes on a life of its own as it grows. His first two years in New York being amazingly full of powerful experience, the songs that came out of this time are filled with the roller-coaster of human emotion that is life in the city.
Once Shawn decided he had enough material to head to the studio, he contacted Brian Pake to head to the Toy Box recording studio in Seattle. 2 days and 19 songs later, there was enough material to bring in other artists to track out the rest of the body of the songs. Enter Kimo Muraki and his amazing musical presence. Kimo listened to the tracks and dove in with his amazing repertoire of musical talents to enrich and accent the sound.
The first album was produced by Pake and you can hear the underpinnings of the alt-country influence in each song. Add an element of the eerie and the full power of horns and you have the first album.
