She is also very active on Reverb Nation, where she has made it as far as #2 on the Boston Pop Charts. Since beginning her YouTube channel, she has received over 60,000 views and has won a Bronze Award for Vocal and Musical Performance on her cover of Wide Awake.
Her career is just getting started as a pop/ punk rock artist but performing has always been a love of hers. Caitlin was very shy as a child, but broke out of her shell when she was cast in her first theater production at age eleven, where she discovered the thrill of entertaining. From there, she continued her theater career at her junior/senior high school and later into a repertory company. To improve her acting, Caitlin began taking voice lessons when she was fourteen. It was at this point that she realized that singing was her true passion. However, still being timid, she kept her voice hidden from everyone, and it was not until age fifteen that she first sang solo in front of a crowd of people. From that day, she has spent every day singing in choruses and practicing her vocals, jumping at any chance she had to entertain an audience.
In the summer of 2012, after getting inspiration from many of her favorite artists, Caitlin realized that she wanted to pursue a career as a pop/punk rock artist. She was determined to make her dreams come true and was willing to give up everything to achieve her goal. In July of that year, she recorded her first cover of “Wide Awake” by Katy Perry at Cybersound Studios. The video was posted on Youtube, and by August it had hit over one thousand views. Caitlin was ecstatic about her unexpected success, and returned to the studio later that month to record her second cover “Titanium.” These covers encouraged her to produce her own work, driven by the idea of making her dream a living reality. Caitlin got right to work writing and helping to compose her own songs, wanting everything to be completely original and unique to her. With influence from 80’s rock and live concerts, she developed a unique sound of a rock, punk and pop mix using mostly live instruments as opposed to electronic beats.
Caitlin Arcand looks forward to furthering her career in the music industry. She is currently finishing up her debut EP “City Lights” and is excited to have it released this winter!
