BIOGRAPHY
Shadrack Tye are all members of the same family based in South London. Though they obviously know each other quite well they hadn't thought of making music together until several years ago when they had a bit of an epiphany. It proved to be an extraordinarily creative experience and a surprising amount of fun......Since then they have played to critical acclaim at venues and festivals in London and around the country.

Named after Tina's maternal grandfather, they perform lfok arrangements and original songs bringing to both a multitude of musical influences.Tina (vocals/violin/recorder) and Paul (violin/vocals/mandolin/English concertina) have had long careers playing for top London orchestras and as music educationalists, while Sam (guitar/vocals) also sings with vocal jazz harmony group Vive, recently featured on both BBC television and radio.
Drawing on their collective experience, they blend innovative jazz harmonies, rock inspired riffs and classical overtones to create a rich and highly original musical landscape. Singer-songwriter Tina writes songs that showcase her expressive voice and wide vocal range, taking inspiration from life's emotional tapestry

In their first year out Shadrack Tye were invited by Sam Lee to play in the Folk Rising series at Cecil Sharpe House and also performed at the Purbeck, Wessex and Folk Thing festivals. More recently they have headlined at venues in London and the south and debuted most successfully at the Rochester Sweeps Festival and Broadstairs Folk Week.

Last year they achieved multiple plays on the Tom Robinson Show, BBC Introducing Mixtape and Mike Harding Folk Show with their arrangements of "The Saucy Sailor Boy" and "Sovay" and new recordings of original songs "Ocean Waves" and "Another Way".
In addition, after being heard live by the producer of the International Ronnie Scott's Radio Show, they were given the opportunity to record their much loved cover of "Big Yellow Taxi" for the Joni Mitchell Special aired in the UK, USA and Canada.
They were also the featured band for Spiral Earth's "Introducing" article in November 2013.

They have a self-released EP - "The Lovers Tale", described by Mike Harding as "damn fine" and are currently creating their next album due for release in 2014.

Some nice things people have said………….
“………they produced a set that was entertaining and beautifully crafted. It was a real pleasure to have them perform……..”(Bob Ford, Wessex Folk Festival)
…………..followed by an amazing duo, Shadrack Tye, , Sam Robson with percussive guitar and Tina Longford on fiddle accompanying Tina’s wide ranging voice, perfectly paired with Sam’s harmonies in their original material. They broke into an a capella Nobody Knows, winning the audience over even more…I almost feel sorry for the headliners needing to follow such a scintillating performance..(Tim Heywood, Bournemouth Music Blog )
“………this mother, father & son trio is everything but twee. Three very talented musicians, from a variety of classical and jazz trained backgrounds, they play with a fantastic energy. Storytelling songs' origins as they go through the set, they play both original tunes and old traditional folk songs with more complex arrangements to make the most of their instrumental and vocal talent ” (Jen Soames, Remote Goat, re: Folk Rising)
“……the room was filled with the enchanting sound of Shadrack Tye: ……Their impeccable musicianship carried the wit and weight of timeless storytelling in the English folk tradition. Tina’s voice, supported beautifully by Sam, held the entire crowd captivated and had us all clapping and singing along ” (Amy Woodrow Arai, Native Spirit Festival)
“Your music last night at the Grampus in Lee was just wonderful. Thanks so much for popping in to our little pub and making my world a bit more special ” (Mark Presland, Devon)
