InsaneComp is the solo musical venture of songwriter, composer and performer Plaster. After going through a metal (from neo to hardcore) phase, being part of several bands inspired by those musical influences/genres, Plaster decided in 2012 to finally start working by himself and for himself. Eager to distance himself from the current french musical trends, rooted in everything “core”, but also to produce material that fits his desire to go more industrial and electronic, he gave birth to Catharsis. Catharsis is an ancient notion that appeals to emotion at it’s rawest, at it’s barest. Originally defined by Aristote, Catharsis aimed to use shows and tragedy drama performances to “purify passions”. For the performer as well as for the audience, it’s all about cleansing emotions in order to be able to fully apprehend what goes on on stage. The concept is timeless and it is not a coincidence if it is the name of InsaneComp’s first EP. Raw emotions, violent and fascinating. An universe made of beats, catchy synthesisers, melodies that sweep you away, surprise you at first but then mesmerize you. Raging, aggressive, frenetic, dirty, like an acid pill’s mind-blowing, devastating effects. From lighthearted themes to some way heavier and deep, InsaneComp’s voice is sharp, rough, abrasive, intense, as he steps away from today’s trends and spirals into the dark abysses of willingly neo-metal tinted industrial.
