The 707, are a cover and all purpose function band for hire from the Peterborough area. The four members Kerry, Dan, Alex and Toby all met while they were music students at Peterborough Regional College. Kerry is the lead vocalist and the newest member of the band joining in 2012. Dan (lead guitar), Alex (bass guitar) and Toby (drummer) came together in 2011 as part of the original line up.
The band formed on 7/07/2011 and takes their name from the first 3 digits of that date. The date was also the day the original line up recorded their first CD after completing their music diploma. The CD was a compilation of the songs they performed as students at the Regional College. Inspired by the success of this venture they remained together performing for friends and relatives at a wedding and birthday parties. In 2012 the line-up changed with the introduction of a stronger vocalist. Although they are gaining a reputation as a pub band having played a number of local pubs they have ambitions beyond this.
The ability to perform a wide variety of songs, putting their own unique edge to them, gives the band a youthful energy which combined with a professional overall sound is guaranteed to appeal to people of all ages and musical interests.
Kerry Meatyard, the lead singer, began performing from a very young age. After joining her local choir at the age of 5, she developed a keen interest in the performing arts, and as well as a dancer and an actor she is the ‘front man’ of the band and a very talented singer. A keen Jessie J and Paramore fan.
Dan Nufrio who plays lead guitar, has been playing since he was 12 years old. With inspiration from such bands as Green Day and Biffy Clyro has always wanted to play in a band. He has been a guest guitarist for one of the best local bands in Peterborough: ‘Children of the Revolution’.
Alex Whittle plays bass guitar and has been playing since the age of 16. His influences are Rush, Metallica, Porcupine Tree and Opeth. He loves all kinds of music from all different genres and hopes one day to become a professional guitar teacher/performer/songwriter.
Toby Bass is the drummer and has been playing the drums from the age of 11. Inspired by Dave Grohl and Travis Barker he learnt the drums while at school and has performed in many school concerts.
