Butterfly Corpse is an Alternative-Metal band from Charlotte, NC. The band grew out of a project at a local music school. Lead singer Jess Lynn decided to branch out to see what she could make happen. With the help of long-time friend and mentor, Jason Wittersheim from local Charlotte band Fall of Ashes, she began to write songs and start the search for the right mix of musicians to form the band.
After a brief period of rotating members, Jess met Drummer Brandon Dolyk through a side cover band project and quickly decided he would be a great addition to the band. Matthew Thompson joined replacing Dave Canals on lead guitar although Dave still helps out when needed and remains very close. Ethan Hoffman, being a childhood friend of drummer Brandon, offered to help Corpse as they searched for a permanent bassist and decided in late November of 2013 to join as the permanent bassist of Butterfly Corpse. After many months of searching, Corpse added Jordan Mattacchione as their new permanent rhythm guitarist.
Butterfly Corpse has been performing live for the past three and a half years, has picked up a large loyal fan base, and has been making life-long friends with many local Charlotte bands and others around the world. Their powerful brand of Alternative-Metal, relatable lyrics and their high energy performances continue to thrill the North Carolina crowds.
Corpse released their debut EP Chrysalis in February of 2013 as well as a music video for their haunting ballad Miners. In between their hectic pace of shows, the band continues to write more music for their next album.
