British-based Recording artist, Lilas was born and raised in Paris (France) of Congolese parentage.
Lilas LaFleur is a gifted musician with something more than talent to share. Her music is very positive and she encourages people not to give up on their lives. Her songs are inspired from her own personal experience and her experience as a Christian. In sharing a gift that God has given her, Lilas has the means to encourage her fans. She started singing since she was a little girl but the age of 9 she started composing music on her keyboard, and has been performing ever since. She had worked with her uncle Diblo Dibala. Lilas has never had any vocal training as such. She has a heart for people who's been abuse physically, sexually, mentally.
In 2000, she moved to Middlesbrough, UK where she studied at the University of Teesside.
On the 22nd of September 2004, Lilas La Fleur was interviewed and performed on the "Dream on TV" on the God Channel. She release her debut single (Gospel) in 2006, 'Don't Worry', the single was reviewed by Christopher Heron from www.blackgospel.com and she was also interviewed by him. After an interview in one of the North East of England's newspaper (read the interview athttp://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk) , Lilas La Fleur was called and interviewed by ITV, one of the UK national channel and was viewed on GMTV program. In 2007, Lilas LaFleur published her first book "STEP INTO YOUR CALLING: WORSHIP LEADING" in that same year. Lilas is an accomplished singer / song-writer who has supported the multi-platinum selling, award-winning American R&B superstar Ne-Yo at his sell-out North East England After Party in Sunderland on the 18th of July 2009.
After a break and searching herself and also coming out of a violent marriage, Lilas understood from her life experience that her message should be heard by everyone Christian and non-Christian therefore with the release of her forthcoming charity single "Girlfriend", Lilas will raise funding for Women's Aid England and Objectif Congo through it. June 2010, she was one of the artists who participated on the song 'Congo Unite' by Congo Fifty, following that she has performed her forthcoming single Girlfriend at Congo 50 show on the 31th of July 2010,in that same year she moved to London. Lilas has featured on Jay-z's Roc Nation Artist K Koke mixtape Pure Koke v2 released in April 2011, the song is Take my breath. Now back to France, her debut EP 'Top of the world' is set to be released this year, so be on the lookout for what promises to be a classic conceptual album with a wide of emotive issues, which are close to this multi-talented French chanteuse's heart, and mind.
