Being exposed to barbershop, showtunes and Black Sabbath, all at an early age, and loving them all, has lead Eric Johnson to create an eclectic montage of styles on his new release, "Summer Dance". Having spent many years performing, ericj has a full bodied appreciation for all styles of music.

He began singing in rock bands as a young adult. Many different combinations led to Eric fronting, as lead singer, the progressive metal bands Prophet and Uglyasin.

Songwriting started in earnest the minute Eric had a guitar and a couple of chords under his belt. That first guitar opened the door to a world of stringed instruments and a few with keys that Eric plays now. Having written over 300 songs to date, ericj is happy to share some of his favorites with you.

Which brings us to Eric’s first release, Perpetual Notion, an instrumental CD with fourteen tracks released in 2010. Perpetual Notion demonstrates an exciting blend of guitar-centric styles as it weaves a tapestry of Americana influences.

Ericj's newest release is the full length instrumental CD "Summer Dance" which centers on Eric's love of the banjo and harmonica.

Ericj has several new projects currently being produced, including a roots rock vocal based CD entitled "It Can't Get Any Better", with a summer release anticipated, and another instrumental release. As well as projects for several other artists in Eric's home base, Maple Hill studio.
