Junkyard Amy Lee is a mean-ass singer/songwriter from Seattle, Wa. Legend has that once, as a baby, a rattlesnake crawled into her crib and just as it was about to bite little Amy Lee, she grabbed that rattlesnake by the tail and yanked it's hide clean off to use as a guitar string. On that very skin, she plucked out the first chords for her song "I'm Mean," which promptly stopped that rattlesnake's heart before it even knew it's skin was gone. Her teenage years were spent on the road; thumbing down entire diesel convoys, hippie wrangling, and twice even squatting a still spinning twister. Rumor has it, she once glared the entirety of Folk Life into bathing... In 2004, having drank every last drop of bourbon west of Chicago, Junkyard Amy Lee declared she was still wasn't drunk and settled down to become a street busker. The music she wrote about murder, love, lust, and the long road, made the devil himself ashamed he'd been so lazy. Every show is a raucous sing-a-long with awed onlookers lost in a voice that is as distinct as rolled tobacco and whiskey drinkin' on an old friend's lawn. Time will regard this as instantly classic, but, in the mean time, we can count ourselves amongst the lucky downtrodden who can tell the tale.
