JT Meier (guitar, vocals) - Leader of the Tourists, J.T. enjoys replicating the musical style of his boyhood idols from the 50's and 60's. His band of the mid 60's, The Live Five, played with The Rolling Stones, Beach Boys, Everly Brothers, Doors, Yardbirds, Sonny and Cher, Animals, Lovin' Spoonful, and many more. Formerly with Seattle's Jerden Records, J.T. has always played in pop music bands, interspersed with travels to Australia, Europe, and the Pacific Isles. A well established figure in the regional music scene, J.T. never fails to charm and entertain, as well as keep people up dancing!.. Leon Forrest (keyboard, vocals) - A true child of the 60's, Leon turned his classical training to such famous rock venues as the Avalon and the Filmore, opening with his band for such prestigious acts as the Byrds, Yardbirds, Quicksilver, Turtles, Janis Joplin, and many many more. After barely missing a major label contract, Leon moved from San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury to an Oklahoma farm commune where he started another formidably connected band which again narrowly missed a major record deal. Frustrated but wiser, Leon moved to Lincoln City to start a recording studio in the late 70's and is well known in the Northwest through his recording and playing gigs. His experience has been an exciting and invaluable addition to the Tourists. Leon's favorite memory from the 60's scene was spending an entire day cruising the Bay Area with Jeff Beck. Mik Gobel (bass, vocals) - Greatly influenced by British rock, Mik began playing guitar at the tender age of ten. In his teens he played in several very successful east coast bands, one spawned the J. Geils Band and another formed a close relationship with Nils Lofgren and frequently opened for Nil's band 'Grin'. Most notable bands from the past were 'Imaginary Cowboys', 'The Rubber Band' and 'Group 9', based in The Atlantic City NJ area and Baltimore MD / Washington DC areas respectively. Mik is also a professional juggler and contributes his comedic talent and physically agile enthusiasm to the Tourists' shows, as well as his accomplished musicianship.
