The songs we weave tell tales of myth and legend and the old beliefs of our lands and peoples. The changing seasons are here, and the natural world around us – seen and unseen. The voices and harmonies, the rhythms we build into our music - all this is a celebration of who we are, where we come from, and most of all, the heritage we all share.
Brocc incorporate a wide range of instruments into a rich musical tapestry - from full volume with bagpipes and huge medieval drums to the gentle sounds of harp and bowed psaltery. Our music is timeless, evocative of earlier, simpler times.
The instruments reflect our love of forgotten timbres - we play English and Swedish bagpipes, woodwind and recorders, harp and hurdy-gurdy, octave mandola and laud, the haunting bowed psaltery, and a host of percussion.
