Seafus (born Seafus Chatmon-Smith on the 4th of August 1988) is singer-songwriter, composer, pianist and Producer. He has worked with artist such as Angelica Birdsong as both a Producer and songwriter. Played Keyboards and sang background for Bryan Dallas (Brian Hiner), Produced tracks for Keznamdi Mcdonald and sang lead vocals for the band Vasco Skys.
The Start of Music.
Seafus first started seriously playing music in the 4th grade at the age of 8. Playing violin for 3 years before switching to piano. He then began singing in his high school choir while learning to write classical music. Though Seafus’ latest records have been mostly of the Pop variety. He also writes Rock, R&B, Classical and Contemporary worship songs.
In 2006 Seafus became the youth bandleader for his church (Discovery Church of the Nazarene in Livermore C.A.) only to latter become the Lead Worship Pastor in 2010 at the young age of 20. In 2009 he began forming the band known as Vasco Skys with fellow band members: Richie Messenger and brother Nick Messenger. The band put out a EP in late august of 2009 with the title “Hearts Flames”. The first song
“Let It Go” released only as a single on October 8th 2008. Was a brain child of several friends hanging out late one night after a youth gathering. The song showing signs of promise amongst there friends lead Seafus and Richie to begin work on the EP.
Vasco Skys followed up “Hearts Flames” with a couple singles. A stripped down balled version of: One Step Close, and next a hard hitting song called F&G (Fun & Games).
The band also covered a couple songs, “Not Over You”(by Gavin Degraw) and “Drive By”(by Train) Though the band hasn’t released recordings of any other songs. They wrote several more that have only been heard live. Though the band has not broken up, they are not currently playing.
Seafus is currently working on a solo project dated to release sometime in 2013.
