Slaves to the Groove is a Toronto based band focused on becoming better musicians, better people, and spreading what they learn through their music.
"…an interesting art project that you know was worth millions but you did not quite understand why. An entertaining experience worth trying for yourself." (sic)
-Joseph Ianni, Post Post Hardcore
The band members Khaleel Seivwright (Keys, Vocals) Mark Dalgarno (Guitar, Vocals) and Curtis Clark (Drums, Vocals) create their own sound and groove because each member is a songwriter. They push the boundaries of musical styles by not falling into one specific genre but by mixing their favourites together.
The band is not backing off or slowing down, having expanded from their rock origins at smaller punk venues such as Siesta Nouveaux. Now developing into blues, jazz, reggae, psychedelic and most recently rap at venues such as El Mocambo, The Legendary Horseshoe Tavern, Velvet Underground and Lee's Palace.
Slaves to the Groove are dead set on making a statement, standing out, and inspiring as many people as they can to come on this journey with them. If you live in Toronto, watch out, because Slaves to the Groove is coming to a venue near YOU.
