Casanova Down comprise of Matt Kula (vocals/guitar), Marcus Walker (bass guitar) & Cam Smith (drums.) The sound of the trio has been described as soulful garage rock, with a funk groove.
Matt formed the band in September 2012, and is a mainstay of the local music scene. His previous bands include City of Conquest, Grand Slam Opera & The Contract to name a few.
Marcus, who studies at the University of Huddersfield, joined in October 2013. While Cam, after placing an advert on joinmyband.com as a drummer looking to join or form a cleckheaton based band, joined earlier the previous month.
Since their conception the band have played such local venues in West Yorkshire such as The Black Swan, The Gasworks, Comrades Club & The Coniston.
The band’s base of Moorcroft Studios in Cleckheaton has seen them record 12 songs, all of which are available on the band profile or at www.reverbnation.com/casanovadown
A review of their November 2012 appearance at the Comrades Club was featured in the December edition of the Spenborough guardian, a similar review followed in the same Newspaper later in 2013 after a performance at Heckmondwike festival. April 2013 also saw the group play 2 songs live across over 200 universities in England as part of the ramair live student radio event.

Festival appearance in 2013 have included May at Bradford University’s Party on the Amp (headlined by UK No 1 selling artists, The Hoosiers) & July at The Crown of Lights Festival in Heckmondwike.
The crown of lights festival was the last performance including original members Ryan Troy (drums) and Uriah Gabriel (bass guitar), who shortly announced thereafter they were leaving the band due to University, and health commitments respectively.
