Science / Bio

Started in April of 2011, Science consists of Alexander Paul (Guitar/Vox) Evan Thomas (Guitar/Vox) Tomasz (Keys/Guitar) Andy Longo (Bass) and Steve Ryan (Drums). The members of Science are a tightly knit group of friends, destined to play music together. They assembled a 5 piece early on and recorded with good friend Darren DeFranco. Following the October 2011 release of the debut EP “Don’t Panic!” Science turned their focus to playing shows throughout North Jersey as well as Manhattan and Brooklyn. After Darren left, Science focused on writing a full length album and creating what critics have said is an electric live performance. Andy joined Science in December of 2012 as bassist, allowing Alex to go back to his roots as lead singer and guitar. While promoting rock and creativity, Science is more than that, creating and distributing music with a green conscience, helpful hand, and the bigger picture in mind. A campaign for a grease-tour-van was started in the summer and Science was featured in Woofstock to save sheltered animals. The band is a strange combination of influences, from Blondie to Battles, Phil Collins to Bigwig, My Chemical Romance to Al Green, and comparable to chemistry in the way that very raw and different elements can come together to create something completely new and different. Though most of the songs are written by one member, all of the songs feature the influence and creative input of each member, making every song not only dynamic, but comfortably progressive. Science can be found on Spotify, downloaded for free, and will be touring the United States in 2013.
