Third Sound is Jeremy Beavers, Jon Brown, and Brian Palat. The band formed in 2012 after Jeremy Beavers and Jon Brown, both having recently earned bachelor's degrees in music from Kennesaw State University, realized it would be fun to play music together.
“On our own we’ve been performing music for most of our lives,” Beavers said in an interview with Dylan Galbraith, shortly before their first show together. Having now meshed their musical personalities, they have been performing regionally since early 2013, based out of the North Metro Atlanta area. They have been featured in the Roswell Tap's Singer Songwriter Series showcase for original music and the North Georgia Film and Music Professionals music showcase.
Having grown up with widely varied musical backgrounds, Third Sound brings their favorite aspects of classic rock, grunge, Motown, blues, folk, and classical music into their relaxed, yet energetic performances. They have played music at many and varied venues such as Steve's Live Music, the Roswell Tap Singer Songwriter Series, and Chukkar Farm Polo Club, as well as numerous bars, breweries, coffee-houses, and anywhere people gather to listen to music. In late 2013, Brian Palat was added to the lineup on drums; Third Sound currently performs in full band form as a power trio, also performing as an acoustic duo according to the nature of the venue.
“This project together is the first thing we have done where we’ve gotten to really control all the aspects of making music the way we want to make it,” says Beavers.
With that in mind, they continue to express an unusual creative voice amid contemporary alternative and folk music, whether spinning a classic rock song their way or performing a new original.
