Maniac / Bio

Born Terra Stolberg on September 23,1992. She was born and raised in Eureka, California. She was raised by a single mother who suffered with depression and at one time addiction. Her father was in and out of prison, suffering with alcoholism and drug addiction. Maniac herself suffered with her own demons, even as a young child. Watching her mother suffer thru abusive boyfriends, who abused both her and her mother, had lasting effects on her. At one point Stolberg, her mother, her sister, and baby brother crammed into a small back room of grandma's house for a little over a year ,until Stolberg's mom rented a house on the West Side of Eureka,CA. With hip hop influences from her dad, and rock, punk rock and alternative rock influences form her mom, and a bit of her own music taste, she began to use music to escape her harsh realities. She could be seen constantly wearing headphones, during class, at home, or on the streets. At 11 or 12 years old she started seriously writing rhymes (she wrote before but as jokes) It wasn't until late 2005,when she was 13 years old that her dad was released from prison and unpacked his mics and mixers, that she stared recording at the MARZ project. Later that year her dad ran Boneyard Computers, her dad built her a computer with music programs in it. She would stay up for a whole day making music; it was then that she decided to make a music MySpace page. Four years later she started her own record label now known as Reckless ENT. In Feb. of 2010 she moved to Salt Lake City, Utah and lived there for 6 months writing music with no way to record. In July of 2010 she came back to Eureka, CA.
It has been 3 years since then, after a struggled attempt at a rap group, she is rapping solo again, and doing shows . After a year of recording, she released her first ever mixtape "Angry Young and Broke:Vol.1"
Soon after she released a sexually explicit mixtape titled "If My Mattress Could Talk" the mixtape was widely promoted on the local internet radio YMF Radio show, and quickly became the most popular mixtape. She has since released 3 mixtapes "Angry Young and Broke Vol. 2" "Anything But Human" and 'The xXx Files"
In 2012 she was signed to local label DeathStar Records owned by fellow rapper 'Thic Man". And is currently working on her first Deathstar Records mixtape which hasn’t been named yet.
Her sharp lyrics and witty punch lines have caught the eye of a group of people that can relate. Maniac's style is anything but normal, no label can be slapped on these lyrics, it ranges from dirty sexual songs to dark horror core rap, all the way to the stoner rap people are used to hearing from Humboldt Rappers. She is also one of the only open Lesbian rappers in Humboldt County. Her wild live performance on stage will surprise you "One time I was performing Native Black or Mexi and I just grabbed a mic stand and used it as a stripper pole and the crowd loved it"-Maniac. She has opened for widely known performers such as Pato Banton and The Mystic Roots Band, Roach Gigz, and Equipto. She has also done about 10 local shows, most consisting of shows she herself has thrown together. Not only is she a rap artist, she is an event coordinator, throwing together all ages shows for the hip hop heads around Humboldt County, all raising money for the Youth Organization that got her started. The Ink People’s MARZ Project.
This girl needs to be closely watched. She is a few steps from breaking the norm of Humboldt rappers. Be on the lookout!
