THIS IS THEIR STORY
The Cat Daddys came into existence in 2005, as a pastime for two musicians Roger Moffett (Electric guitar & vocals), Carl “Doodle”Hackworth (drums & vocals), whose only goal for the band was to have fun and play some music with their friends.
This group that hails out of Charleston, WV, found that during their first few rehearsals together, there was some talent and potential for this little group
Each of the members exhibited a desire to excel at his craft and slowly but surely the bands vision began to grow. the band decided to add a second guitarist,
Bill Smith was asked to join the band. (Lead guitar & vocals) Bill has played in the valley and around the state for years. Roger and Bill met when the played in Crawdad Smoothie……
Bill started out playing bass guitar back in the day and made the move to lead guitar,
and we are thankful that he did…..
Butch Moles (Bass Guitar) was asked to join The Cat Daddys,
Butch is a Bad Ass…….He is the best bass player around..
and he is one of the best people around…
Butch has played with many great bands like. The Dave McCormick Band. Rocking Horse and Simon Gurdy
Roger Moffett, one of the founding members decided to leave the Cat Daddys in January of 2012.
And now a new chapter began in January 2012……….
And his name is Kipp McGhee
Kipp McGhee (Lead Vocals & Guitar) moved to West Virginia in 2003.. was a touring musician.. settled here .played in several bands in the region.. HEAD SALAD, TRIXIE LOVES SPEED, PAVLOVS DOGS, THE SCOTT MCGHEE PROJECT, ALMOST ADAM.
and the best thing about Kipp joining the band is Joe Smith, lol...
just kidding Kipp
Joe is the man, he helps us out, setting up and running lights. he is our go to man,,,
We always threaten to whoop Kipp if he gives Joe a hard time...
The Cat Daddys, are gathering an ever-widening fan base, this band is making a name for itself, and, most importantly, they have fun doing it. What you see is what you get ! The hardest working band in West Virginia!!!
