Hi folks! My name is David Layton (the artist formerly known as Dai Lizard) and I am, among other things, a guitarist, singer, songwriter, and occasional percussionist from Wales in the UK. Over the years, I’ve played and gigged with a lot of bands of almost every style, and done more recording sessions than I care to remember. I have also written songs for a whole heap of bands and artists, including some big names including Duffy, Steve Winwood, and Dolly Parton (though, admittedly, none of the latter ever actually recorded the stuff I wrote for them). This, however, is the first time I’ve done a real solo project. My tastes are pretty wide-ranging, from blues-rock, to jazz and country, and this is reflected in the stuff I've recorded. I hope you enjoy it. I’ll be uploading tracks as I complete them, and occasionally posting improved versions of existing tracks, so stay tuned! For those of you interested in such things, I play old Gibson Les Paul and hardtail Fender Stratocaster guitars, with acoustic duties being performed on an old Yamaha FG335. For amplification, I use Marshall JCM800 Series 2203 amps and 4x12 1960 cabs or their modelled equivalents exclusively, with NO EFFECTS, apart from the odd bit of reverb or chorus put on at the desk, now and again. Finally, I owe special thanks and an honourable mention to miracle-working luthier, Gareth Lewis of Cranes Music, Cardiff, who has worked wonders to keep my old guitars on the road without them showing their age too much - a top man in his field!
Anyway, enjoy the fun!
