Jonathan Prag was brought up in Luxembourg where French was his first language. After studying drama at Bristol university he began performing as an actor/musician acting and playing viola and guitar in a number of touring productions for various theatre companies in the seventies and eighties. After touring in Poland, Canada, France and the UK he decided to concentrate solely on the guitar. As well as performing he teaches the guitar. He is a classical guitar tutor at Taunton's College and at St Mary's College and Charlton School, Southampton and also has many private pupils. He performs at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe every year and also tours to venues throughout the UK. Other work includes playing with chamber music group, The Ruskin Ensemble and he regularly does performances arranged by the charity Music in Hospitals. International touring includes appearances in Toronto and at venues on the Adelaide Fringe
