Born and raised in Texas, I was the youngest child. My mother has a beautiful voice and she would sing all the time so I thought that it was normal for a person to entertain themselves that way. I was an awkward child and sometimes I had a hard time socially although I was never very timid. I played alone and I would sing my favorite songs and pretend to be on stage in front of a massive audience. I wanted to grow up a be a singer. That dream stayed with me and I would sing for anyone who would listen. Around the time my father passed away I began writing songs as a way to cope with the changes that were happening around me. It has been my greatest refuge ever since. I love to perform live, It's a rush that I cannot get enough of, and I most often sing acapella. There is something very profound about the naked voice. My husband plays a huge role in my songwriting. He helps with everything from putting instrumentation to the songs I create to rewriting parts of the piece and editing it. Together was a raising five children and we are quite a musical household. It is because of my greater responsibilities that I was only able to produce a very basic acapella representation of my work but I will also be coming out with a version of the songs with greater sound quality and instruments. Until then enjoy the sneak peak and thanks for reading.
