Alejandra O'Leary Band plays pretty & raucous rock n' roll music that fuses old-school sweetness with the attitude of the future.
Alejandra's mastery of the pop hook, her ethereal voice, and her scintillating band make every live performance a happening. Sleepless nights and frustrated love affairs never sounded so good.
Alejandra O'Leary Band is a stronghold of the Ann Arbor music community. "O'Leary's voice sounds like a combination of Jenny Lewis and Victoria Williams, and her songs are both catchy and fun-- polished, straightforward, and barroom accessible. But they also have a certain lyrical toughness that's reminiscent of another Williams, Lucinda," wrote Chris Berggren in the Ann Arbor Observer.
The band recently released a live E.P. of original material, recorded at Groovebox Studios in Detroit. "Live and Raw from Detroit". The E.P. is available for download here: http://alejandraoleary.bandcamp.com/
"Live and Raw from Detroit" is "well recommended, if you dig a melodic mix of rock, roll, and raw emotion for your listening pleasure," wrote Steve Birkett in rock music blog Heavier-Than-Air.
Alejandra O'Leary Band will begin recording a new full-length album of original songs in February 2012. The band's live appearances will be limited in 2012 because of their work in the studio, so catch them while you can!
