Earl Parker / Bio

Earl Parker is a songwriter who tells stories of the heart, mind and soul. His earliest musical roots were tended by the Irish lullabies and folk songs his mother sang, the Walter Brennan, Hank Williams, Marty Robbins, and Jim Reeves records his father liked to listen to, and the choir he sang in as a youngster.
Growing up his imagination was fanned by songwriters from all eras of musical composition: Porter, Gershwin, Lennon, Dylan, Lee Hooker and Howlin’ Wolf. He began emulating their economy of style, their lyrical sophistication, and by their example he began expressing ideas using a unique voice; the voice he found while traversing the ups and downs of his own life.
Great songs are born from a mystery at the heart of the collective unconscious. They are woven from happy, sad, and inspirational truths directly into the emotions: and it is the songwriters’ job to uncover their secret pathways. Earl Parker is aware this relationship is enigmatic, and the depth of that understanding is best expressed in the refrain from one of his own songs: “Half the job is knowing what you want and getting to it, and the other half is just being Crazy Enough To Do It.”
