Although not necessarily a hardcore band, the ever-changing face of Dynaflo seems to be heading further and further in that direction. What started out as a two person experimental garage rock band has emerged in to a dirty, loud, in your face and grab you by the balls kind of music that grows closer to the group’s roots as time goes on. “We have a lot of dirty roots and consistently revert back t...o our dirty source, our lead ridden, rust-water source.”
Aaron Dynaflo (A.D.) and Fatshit 6 birthed this badger outfit long ago, but it (more or less) became a real band around 2005. After former drummer Karen left for New York the band was graced with the Lowell-bred, Grand Rapids-force-of-nature drummer, cHeWie (of former Soviet Union, The Walking Corpses, and O' Beast fame, with short stints in Ten Second March, and Coin). He breathed new life into the band and brought with it Dynaflo’s bassist Pat Brinkley (O' Beast, Ginger Fig). During this time the band was invited to play a couple shows with Ten Second March and it all started getting fun from there. They did a couple of concerts with Ginger Fig for their final (retirement) shows as well as several shows with the Potatoe Babies. During this time they, with the help of Joel Howell and Rob Rotten, produced the ablum “Capitan Juan y los comedores del Jesus”. Not long after that Fatshit took hiatus in Ohio for a badger-fortnight and upon his return Dynaflo is emerging stronger than ever. With a pile of new songs and new guitarist Angry Aaron, aka A.Z., (After Prior Day) the band is growing back into its hardcore, punk-rock roots, while still holding onto thier deadly 70’s rock riffs.
“I keep leaning for a harder and harder approach to the music. With the state of the economy and all the bullshit happy hipsters running the state of things it’s easy to become pissed off at music along with the world view. I don’t hear enough people being pissed off. It’s as though being pissed off has been banned.” - A.D.
"We've never been out to prove anything to anyone. We do the music for us. If someone out there likes what we're doing, that's a complete bonus. We're not trying to be the next Huey Lewis or the News." - Fatshit6
