In the beginning, Sunny and Dunlea were traveling around the Worcester/Boston area solving acoustic issues that many local music clubs were having. Shortly there after, they realized the demand for high quality live music was more than just the two of them could handle, so they called in specialists, namely Bradley "Led" Zepko, James "Foosh" Fuccione, and Jay "Bird" Wilson. The team worked on their sound in various dive bars and back rooms.
In late 2009, SUNLEA emerged on the Central Massachusetts jamband scene as a beacon of beer drinking light. The music was contagious with soaring guitar solos, smooth percussive grooves and high engery performances. In 2010, Sunlea headlined Harpers Ferry, performed at The Strange Creek Music Festival, and played gigs at many prestigious music clubs including The Middle East, T.T. The Bears, The Church, Tammany Hall, etc...
On November 5th, 2011 Sunlea released a full length album of original music entitled "Shades of Rhythm" and continued to perform throughout New England! Highlights included headlining the Hard Rock Cafe in Boston, headlining the Wobbly Barn in Killington, VT and a late fall gig at Easton's Pub in Newport, RI.
Soon entire counties were infected with Sunlea-itis, and once you have the itis, the only way to get by is to keep coming back show after show to get your medicine.
