In four years Andrew Karnavas has created three music projects and released four albums: two from his rock band Runaway Sun, his solo LP debut, FILM NOIR, a work of introspective, image-driven Americana music recorded at Houston’s historic SugarHill Studios, and a family music album as AndyRoo and the AndyRooniverse. He has toured the East Coast and Gulf Coast with all three projects. In 2011, the Houston Press recognized Andrew with a First Annual Houston Web Award for Best Use of Twitter to Promote a Personal Brand.
Andrew has been lucky enough to play with some of today's best recording artists, such as the Heartless Bastards and Davy Knowles. Brooklyn's Diane Birch opened for Runaway Sun at Austin’s SXSW 2009 Music Festival, and PBS invited Andrew to open for MyNameIsJohnMichael and Trombone Shorty at SXSW 2011. Besides playing at SXSW, Andrew acts as the Music Programming Coordinator for HoustonTXSW, an unofficial SXSW showcase for Houston bands. Radio Disney AM 1590 invited AndyRoo and the AndyRooniverse to be a featured performer at the 2011 Houston Rodeo and Livestock Show.
Whether live or recorded, playing Americana, Rock, or Family music, Andrew entertains audiences of all ages.
