Ecliptyka presents an unique sound with catchy melodies, dynamic and aggressive vocals and creative riffs followed by strong drums and bass. This is a formula that also exemplifies its live performances. The band presents influences from Heavy Metal to Death Metal and Metal Core.
The band started in 2008 when the current line-up got together: Helena Martins (vocals), Helio Valisc (guitars and vocals), Gui Bollini (guitars and scream vocals), Eric Zambonini (bass) and Tiago Catala (drums). The lyrics and the band aim at expressing fellings and ideas as well as bringing awareness to nowadays problems, and also human behaviour and experiences.
In its career, the band divided the stage with known brazilian rock/metal bands such as Dr. Sin, Tuatha de Danann, Mindflow among others. In July 2008 the band toured across Europe, going through cities in Germany and Belgium, where it took part in big festivals with known bands such as Orden Ogan, for an example. In the following year, Ecliptyka participated in important brazilian rock festivals such as "Rock Feminino" and was the open act for Delain (Holand), Tarja Turunen (ex-nightwish - Finland) and The Agonist (USA), all in Sao Paulo.
In 2011 the band released its first full-length album entitled "A Tale of Decadence", through Die Hard Records in Brazil and Radtone Records in Japan. This album was recorded and mixed by Marcos Monegatto, mastered by Brendan Duffey on Norcal Studios (Almah, Angra, Torture Squad etc) and produced by Ecliptyka with two tracks featuring guests; Danilo Herbert (Mindflow) on "Splendid Cradle" and Marcelo Carvalho on "We Are The Same". In 2012 a video for the song "We Are The Same" was released and already reached the mark of more than 500.000 views on youtube, bringing a lot of exposure to the band.
At the present moment the band is working on the promotion of its second album, intitled “Times Are Changed”, released on July 2014. The record was produced by Jean Dolabella (former Sepultura drummer, Indireto), recorded and mixed by Andre “Kbelo” Sangiacomo (Angra etc) at Family Mob Studios (Ratos de Porão, System of a Down, Converse Co.) in Sao Paulo and it was mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Adrenaline Mob, Malmsteen, Halford) at the USA. In May 2014 the band released a single with a videoclip also intitled “Times Are Changed”. The band is currently booking gigs to promote this record.
Ecliptyka's main goal is to make music of the highest quality possible, seeking personal and professional recognition and bringing awareness to a loyal fanbase and public.
