KahdiaK / Bio

in a world where cliches are abundant and true skills are a thing of the past kahdiak made his name on the underground battle circuit in the late 90s never losing a battle with the uncanny ability to switch styles and use his enemies style against them, 1 by 1 they were all laid to rest.Realizing that in this pop centric candy world that skill artists dont sell for thier failure to produce dance friendly tracks he concentrated his voice and skills to make universal music that everybody can vibe to.The man can do hard core rap to dance, but his true love in his own words is real love songs about true situations not just banging broads, blunts and clothes that seems to be the items the market wants to force its artists to sell. liquior plugs and clothes that the average person cant afford a generation not judged by the soul of the man but the shoes on the soles of the mans feet. Being one of the first spanish rappers in his hood and city, before pitbull and others made it trendy he fought stereotypes and racism in every cypher he entered from black mcs telling him it was a black mans game he never gave in to the bs. All n all they had to respect him.His acclaim was not bought it was earned, his experiences are not made up they were lived. Being a gang leader at the young age of 14 he learned the streets, THE RAP GROUP THE USUAL SUSPECTS can vouch kahdiak was the real deal being as he was in the hood long before they picked up mic's. Kahdiak set the example by being a stand up guy respecting men and woman of all races and hoods, always looking out for the little guy. Lets just say Malden PD, Lynn PD, and Lowell PD have no love loss for the man and kahdiak could care less. That was years ago he says. Gangs at thier core were a good thing back in the day and were started to protect minorities against racist groups backed by the cops but in the end all good things get corrupted by greed drugs and hatred. Kahidak says "I realized I was gonna end up dead chasing that foolish route selling drugs and recruiting so other fools could get money." Being his own man he left the gang when a few local mcs Vance Hoffman and Chris Brooks along with Carl Esperance took him under thier wing and realized the kid could rap .the rest is how you say history." the first person who said i could rap and made me believe was one of my female capos. Leana and I realized maybe I didnt have to be such a fool.Everybody knew the man could organize and attract people to him why not use that for good. His mom Shirley a metro cop was unaware that her son was a gang leader. Moving him out to the suburbs in the 80s away from Heath St in Boston not realizing that the locals might not take to kindly to the first latin family on the block. Boston was a volatile place back then.He states joining the gang cause there were these irish crews running around bullying the younger kids and he wasnt havin that. Kahdi joined and soon rose up tha ranks teaching his members respect and class and to stand up for those being picked on. It set off a gang war that flipped the small city of Malden upside down and eventually broke the other faction. "I did it for the right reasons but in the end gangs are bullshit they say theyre family but its bs, mine really was though." "The city police just hated the fact I unified the blacks, the spanish and any misfit who couldnt find a place." "We were multicultural but the cops only saw brown faces and would harrass us and let the Irish gang jump stab and beat up the younger minority gang." "Half these fools we were fighting were grown ass men 19, 21 year olds fighting 14,15 yr olds, beating up little girls, they were cowards." "I put an end to that." "Im proud of some of that but in the end music saved me, it focused my anger away from all that." Getting expelled from school for beating up these same bullies, Kahdi came to a crossroad and tried college but it wasnt for him. He spent most of his days smoking blunts and freestyling in the hallways. Soon after at 19 he gave the army a shot and to the chagrine of his drill seargents he riled up the troops by starting off rowdy rap sessions on the base. In the end his drill Sgt. Hagwood took him aside and said, "You got skills kid write the cadences upon graduation." Coming home in 2000 he was in several groups. Always being the hookster and lead man, it wasnt till him and his brother Sacrafyce hooked up and took it serious. He believed he could make it with thier debut and only album " IT'S A RAP!" which released in 2005 to modest sales around the boston area. SEE thats not the whole story he said, "It didnt sell alot because everybody burned the damn thing." "Every where we went everybody had heard it, had a copy, strip clubs, colleges, you name it people had burnt copies it was compliment but it didnt help our pockets." After a good long run Kahdi and his brother called it quits and he started his solo career C.P.R. was an experience. They did a show for Coretta Scott King, walked boxing champs to the ring, but citing creative differences Sacrafyce wanted to stay hard core and Kahdi felt as a musician he out grew the group thing. "Ill always love my bro but im not about props in rap battles any more." "Im done with having the back packers adore me, they dont buy records." " I want to make songs that not only make you dance but can make you cry that can make you fall in love and in the end yes make me money thats the goal fame and fortune is it not?" " Anybody that says diffrent has never slept on the street for their dream. Chasing his elusive dream and admitting to couch surfing and shelter stays Kahdi never gave in. Now the proud father of a 2yr old, his music is evolving and maturing into a window to his soul. I end on one of his lines from the song "All in one life time" (ITS A RAP 2005)"Ive lived in the streets while dreaming of mansions, Ive done my dirt with the best of intentions.".......How can you not root for this guy?
