Female MC, writer, model, activist, all collectively in one, Quanna has become increasingly popular, especially within the younger generation. Her sound is unique for she is known to incorporate trap music, 90’s hip hop, pop, and techno beats creating a 21st century sound. With a musical approach, Quanna plans to reach out worldwide to redefine the image of women in music.
Quanna’s mixtape entitled “The Mayan Theory Vol. 1, released November 13, 2012 was the first successful Hip Hop/Pop mixtape to end the year with a bang, and start new beginnings of a music career. Listeners had the chance to experience the 90’s sound of music. As the album buzzed across the states, so far the recent single “Back To The Trap”, following the popular hit “#TMT” are the most popular downloads.
Known for her witty lyrics, Quanna performs in various venues from across the states, especially in New York City and Savannah, GA. From Snap Sports Bar to Coast to Coast Industry Mixer; she has the momentum to show her talent everywhere.
Above all, Quanna’s unique sound is Original, refreshing, and inspiring! But talent does not come over night. Raised in Savannah, Georgia, Quanna is the oldest of four children born to teenage parents. She was brought up in some of the cities roughest neighborhoods during the 90’s. At age 2 her father was sentenced to 40 years in prison for being a leader in one of the cities most notorious drug reigns leaving her to be raised by a single parent. Being exposed to street life at an early age motivated Quanna to became academically focused in hopes of one day living a better life. Throughout her years as a student she participated in marching band, a plethora of sports and was especially known for her writing and poetry. As a means of escaping the dark future that lay ahead, Quanna attended Clark Atlanta University (Atlanta,Ga) where she continued to participate in music and strengthen her writing skills. It was at CAU where she decided to combine music and writing to inspire other young children who may have faced hardships similar to hers.
