Bridgeport CT born, and Durham NC raised, Och…The Young Monk learned early on that life isn't easy. His mom saw a star in him as a child, since the age of 3 he had already become a model and an actor, starring in Jello commercials, as well as having an appearance in the Spike Lee movie Clockers. As he grew up, he took a few wrong turns and through poor influences Och…The Young Monk landed himself in the hospital critically injured.
With his battle wounds in tow, back in Bridgeport CT and with the trusted guide of his cousin Gates, he built a love for music and became graceful with a pen. Och…The Young Monk found refuge in his music, what he calls "real Hip-Hop" With many life lessons under his belt, and a young daughter to live for he strives to relay a strong, positive, yet relevant message.
