Jake was born and raised in Boston and he was indeed BORN to ROCK as told by his Mom who says as a toddler, "Jake
would sit by an old suitcase style record player and listen to stacks of Beatles albums for hours and was the easiest child
to babysit ever." Jake was always mesmerized by the album covers as he listened and learned to read English via album covers as a child. Jake learned various instruments in grammar school and played trumpet in his high school marching band and at age 15 Jake bought his first electric guitar and decided the guitar was the perfect fit and his primary musical instrument to pursue in mastering.
Originally formed in January 1985 with High School friends and before too long Ross Phazor had enough material down for a setlist and began gigging in Boston area clubs. After three years of working a regular job, going to College and gigging with his band Ross Phazor, Jake decided to join the military and serve his country and put his musical dreams on hold for a few years and finish his College degree while serving in the military. A few years turned into several years and when Jake left the military, his hunger for a music career remained omnipresent and stronger than ever.
Soon after his military retirement, Jake reunited with his old friends in his old band Ross Phazor and quickly discovered despite the many years apart, their musical chemistry was still intact and better than ever. Jake wrote new original music than ever before and Ross Phazor recorded and released four studio projects in four years beginning in August 2008. Ross Phazor songs received commercial and independent FM broadcast and internet radio airplay world wide and have gained over forty-thousand fans subscribed to Ross Phazor's web sites and email list. Jake is currently writing new rock music material for Ross Phazor's fourth CD and plans on recording the new material in Boston with original bandmates combined with studio session players in summer 2012.
