We are pleased to present the debut of an ongoing project titled Dia:Macon on Friday, October 26, 2012. The inaugural exhibition will celebrate this milestone with work by Theodora Allen, Timothy Hull, Roman Liška, Dave McDermott, Dave Miko , Rob Nadeau, Jack Siegel, Josh Tonsfeldt, and Alison Veit. Special guest performer to be announced via @diamacon. Dia:Macon I focuses on the commonly expressed concern with proto-figuration, the hieroglyphic form and abstraction culled from primordial earth-time. Each artist attempts a communion with human consciousness at a low, tectonic frequency through the use of occluded forms and textures, excerpts from nature, and glyphic, sphinxlike abstract forms. Named after the Dia foundation with the utmost reverence, Dia:Macon seeks to provide immersive, short-term exhibitions in New York to not only provide an unrestrictive testing ground for more established artists but to punctuate the more institutionalized framework of art exhibition in New York with exciting, stimulating and brief glimmers of artwork. For daily updates, follow @diamacon. Dia:Macon is made possible by the support of Air Alcohol Water.
