Q: Your songs are very romantic. Do you think of someone special when you write your songs?

A: Actually, I don't really consider my songs as romantic, with the possible exception on the song titled "Candle Music." That song was written while thinking of an evening room lit by candle light or a low fire in a fireplace. Still not a very "romantic" thought but an impressionistic interpretation of the "feeling." I'd say that I write music in a manner that Claude Monet or Vincent Van Gogh painted their impressions of scenes. Most of my songs are written as an inner reflection of my mood at the time I'm writing them. Typically, they're more of a moody, quiet reflection of the feelings I have when I sit down at the piano. I've had other people mention that they sound romantic, but honestly, I'm not that romantic, and usually write when I'm feeling depressed and need an outlet for expressing my feelings. I hope that wasn't too depressing of an answer, and I hope it answered your questions thoroughly. Steven Blomgren P.S. My artistic style has been changing lately, heading inevitably toward country music, which I was raised on, so expect to see some drastic changes to my profile here on ReverbNation. I've already changed my "genre" setting to Country to reflect this paradigm change.
