“Jazz and rap aren’t the first musical combination to come to mind for most audiences, but Gordon Leigh and the Naked Ear and rapper Furious D performed it seamlessly. The Naked Ear, including Gordon Leigh on French horn, synth and vocals bassist Dana Beauchemin, drummer Ken Koshman and pianist Raymond Ross and Furious D sounded like they had been playing together for years. They each had their own sets. The Naked Ear played experimental jazz music with everybody locked in. And Furious D rapped his own compositions as the band effortlessly provided backing tracks. They sounded just about perfect together as the attentive crowd got into the groove. ”
