Bio
“Joyfulness” is an interesting and well-thought album of 17 titles mixed in Jamaica by Errol Brown and London by Dennis Bovel, which brings as its name implies, joy, happiness and sunshine in everyone’s heart while sticking to the following concept: in this crucial reality where the computer seems to suffocate, going back to the roots is a logical evidence.
Such is Sticky Wilson’s ideology

About

Sticky Wilson
It is in a ‘roots’ quarter of Bouake in Ivory Coast where political conflicts are subject to civil war that was born Lu ‘Sticky’ Wilson (pronounced ‘Lou’). Played a lot on local radios, he discovers this new Reggae Wailers rhythm, a sound which seems to reach the unanimity in the quarter and that’s a revelation: the music vibration is already on its way towards the birth of a new artist.
With his unique style, Sticky Wilson will progress on his own and will later fly to Jamaica where he will have the pleasure to meet Errol Brown, sound engineer at the very famous Tuff Gong, record label funded in the 70’s by the Wailers. Sticky will then record his first album “Joyfulness” in Kingston, in the Studio of Flabba Holt, famous Bass player of the backing band “Roots Radics”. This album contains tunes recorded with well-known studio artists such as Dean Fraser or Chinna Smith but also, for their vocal harmony, Pam Hall or Sharon Forester, who was for a long time number one of the Japanese Reggae charts, as well as the assistance of the very well known G Bravo.
Unfortunately, due to a lack of production, it’s only 2 years later in Paris that Sticky Wilson will finally have the opportunity to record more songs with the participation of his friends from the Reggae Music International (RMI): Junior Mc Lier & Richacha (The Wailers), a Bass & Drums, well-known to have backed up famous French artists such as Tonton, Ng Marron Doc, Joey Star and the Rappeurs of Passy (93).
