Yung Yung Pallo / Press

“No guys, we don't care about Kanye's new video. Let's talk about Yung Yung Pallo's music video for “I Appreciate Ya.” Finally, a professional quality production, filmed throughout Dr. MLK Way! It's simply essential viewing for Sarasotans. So if a most humble Pallo bestows the smooth delivery, Maryland's crunk hero Dizzle is the hype man. Also, hip hop artists have the best myspace pages; in his own words, “Waz up World?..I know alot of ppl are like 'Who The ****'?..Lol..naw but Immmmmm 'Dizzle'...” (Lake Osprey Village Cabaret, Sarasota)”

“Heard you on ReverbNation radio and became a fan. Liked you on Facebook and +1'd you on Google. Followed you on Twitter too. Keep it coming!”

“Sarasota’s Yung Yung Pallo (fka Young Apollo) is pre-releasing tracks from his new album “Layer Cake 1.5 Tha Prequel” as each is completed. Continuing to, well, layer R&B a cappellas atop head-bobbin’ hip hop beats, as on his initial, 22-song production, “Layer Cake Vol. I Smoove Gangstar,” the modest (though candid) rapper has posted 18 tracks so far, plus several professionally polished videos. Two highlights are “Long Days, Late Nights,” where Pallo freestyles with fellow 941-area emcee Sota (aka Brandon Nadal) and soulful song/video “One Day.” Look for the completed CD later this month—and its followup, “Layer Cake Vol. II Supplyn Da Streetz,” soon after. Download the current collection online at Pallo’s ReverBnation http://www.reverbnation.com/YUNGYUNGPALLO . ”

"This is pretty exciting," said Alexia Black, Minton's 10-year-old daughter, who likes his latest hit, "I'm Sprung". Hip-hop stations in the country are playing the song, and BET (Black Entertainment Television) shows the video. The rapper-turned-singer was the headliner at a concert Friday evening at the Newtown Estates Gym. Jr. Kapps -- a local youth group that encourages young people to do well in school and promotes volunteerism -- and Kapp Productions Entertainment of Sarasota sponsored the concert, which featured local rappers First Dagree. They scheduled time for local youth interested in rapping to meet with Eddie Reece -- a professional booking agent from Ambition Records and Entertainment -- who talked about contracts and gave other important tips. "This was pretty much beneficial," said 19-year-old Larry Lee, also known as Young Apollo of the First Dagree group. Connie Maultsby, founder of Jr. Kapps, said she hopes to do more of these events.
