BarFly turns fourteen years old, on Sunday, June 30th, and we're having a badass BBQ Bash to celebrate! Come out early, and stay late - the party starts at 4pm, and rolls until midnight, at the Tonic Lounge (3100 NE Sandy). Link to complete info: http://www.barflymag.com/event-238.html Eleven great bands make up a stellar bill, the free barbecue's in the the more than capable hands of the Tonic's Sean Sexton and Garner Boreham, and there will be $3 Bengerminz Vodka and Warship Rum, courtesy of Distilling Head, and $2 Ninkasi beers, throughout the festivities. As if bands, booze, and BBQ aren't enough, we're bringing back the Stripper Petting Zoo (where the strippers pet you!), sponsored by Lucky Devil and Devil's Point, and specialty pop-up shops by custom art/body artist, Mr Matt Stanger, the swingin' styles of Poppy Fields Vintage, plus the ever-popular Sinful Syrup sno-cone stand! Distilling Head will be offering tastings of their Bengerminz Vodka and Warship Rum, too! The live music will start at 4pm sharp, and continue all day, wrapping up around midnight. Here's the line-up (in no particular order): Advisory (Stripped-down, yet highly danceable, rock and roll) The Gnash (Hard rock with a sense of humor. And no website - they're that cool) Plum (Special reunion show by Portland's personal monsters of rock) Wizard Boots (Down and dirty rock with an absurdist edge) Elvis (Portland's own Saturday Market singing sensation) Kyle Morris (Darkly psychedelic blues) Jeffery Trapp (Flamenco guitar) Delaney and Paris (Equal parts hilarious and hot girl-band ack-shawn) Dungeon Brothers (Nerdcore rapping about D&D and all things geek) Rian O'Hara (Sweet and silly songs on the ukelele and guitar) and featuring a special performance by the Last Regiment of Syncopated Drummers! Be there AND be square! So, again, that's the last Sunday in June, Sunday, June 30th, 2013 4pm-12am at the Tonic Lounge 3100 NE Sandy Blvd Free with VIP invitation* or BarFly t-shirt! Take a cab, or catch Tri-Met bus #12 to the front door. Oh, and, take Monday off, now - you'll need it. Come on out, early - the barbecue always goes fast, and the entertainment starts at 3pm, sharp.
