Voodoo Prophet / Press

““Voodoo Prophet is head and shoulders above the rest of the Hard Rock/Metal scene in Nashville in all categories. Everything they do is with the utmost professionalism, from behind the scenes to on and off the stage. There is a reason that Voodoo Prophet is consistently playing alongside international acts like Trivium, Shadows Fall, Gwar, Hellyeah and others. Myk and the band have impressed me so much that they are all “hands on” involved with the Ride For Dime charity ride and concert that I put on in Nashville. Last year included musical legends like Soil and David Allan Coe, and this year sees Sevendust headlining. I've spent the past 14 years trekking around the USA photographing the biggest and best names in metal with Ozzfest from 2000-2008 and now the Mayhem Festival the past 5 years. I FULLY expect to be on tour with Voodoo Prophet in the very near future with one of these major festivals.” Chad Lee - rockconcertfotos.com ”

“Music City Booking has brought many of today’s biggest and most popular Rock and Metal acts through Nashville. Any time I can find space for a local opener on a bill, Voodoo Prophet is one of my top go-to bands. The guys are excellent at promoting and put on an amazing live show. My first experience working with Voodoo Prophet was in 2010 when I put them on as direct support for All That Remains and Unearth at Rocketown in Nashville. Most recently I put them on bills with Shadows Fall and Trivium. The band is always professional and a breeze to work with both on and off stage. Having worked with many top-level acts, I can confidently say Voodoo Prophet has what it takes for a bright and prosperous future in the music industry.”

"Voodoo Prophet kicks ass. Period. Oh, and they're pro as hell to work with, promote their asses off, and are some really good dudes too (who kick ass). Chris Cobb - Marathon Music Works

“Though I don’t think they need to, Nashville metal band Voodoo Prophet could namedrop many to validate themselves. They’ve opened for a vast array of artists, from David Allen Coe and Hank III to Shadows Fall and All That Remains. They were named 102.9’s Best Metal Band of 2009, and recorded their most recent EP, Human?, at renowned Westfield, Mass., recording studio Zing, whose client roster includes The Devil Wears Prada, Underoath and Parkway Drive. Moreover, Voodoo guitarist Myk Ricci co-produced Human? with Eric Arena (A Day to Remember, Within the Ruins). None of that’s too shabby, but from a personal viewpoint, Human? is a very colorful, very gripping and very tight 5-track effort that doesn’t unnerve me in a negative sense like so much metal music tends to do. Why?—because it’s melodic; Voodoo Prophet’s music modulates rather than stagnates, not to mention the band has an incredible rhythm section (Jason Mines and Michael Malcom on bass and drums, respectively).”

“Do you prefer your music heavy on the Pantera side? Long time Sik World supporters Voodoo Prophet all the way out in Nashville, Tennessee sure do. Our buddy Sik Tom and his partners Voodoo and Fozzy have been true promoters of the Sik World attitude with their motto “Fuck Your Trend” and they mean it. You can hear it in their sound that they aren’t trying to do anything else but what they love, playing fast and loud, just like their idols. Dimebag woulda been proud.”

“With their heavy guitar driven sound and in your face vocals, these guys are about to take the Metal Scene by storm!!”

“'Tis the season to give and share, whether it be a material gift or a gift of the loudness that is heavy metal music. Voodoo Prophet and four other heavy hitters will bring such a showcase to Club 527 Main Street Friday night. The show is sponsored by 102.9 The Buzz and is called the Buzz Bash For Kids. The lineup for the night consists of Voodoo Prophet, Deadchain, Piranha, Noisecult and MindSplitter, all heavy bands with a heart of gold. Not only will they bring the sickness of metal to the stage, they will collect toys and donations for Second Harvest Food Bank, to help children who are less fortunate this holiday season."We're kind of like a little metal drummer boy," said Voodoo Prophet drummer Jason "Fozzy" Mines. "We can't give a lot of monetary donations, but we can rock out with our music, bringing awareness and drawing crowds." And drawing crowds they do. Voodoo Prophet mostly plays in Nashville...”

“Voodoo Prophet has amazed me once again on their new cd. Driven by preeminent guitars, powerful rhythm section, and pushed by an intense frontman. The new cd has shown the growth from the guys over the year putting out more quality rock/metal for all of us to enjoy. Out doing themselves time after time.”

“Sik World has good taste in bands and once again, it's been confirmed. Our friends Voodoo Prophet (featured here just a few weeks ago)have been awarded the 2009 102.9 Local Buzz "Best Metal Band". These guys are from Nashville, which is one of the most popular music cities in the country. It's not easy to for a metal band to be noticed, but to be awarded "Best Metal Band" in Nashville, that means it's time to check 'em out if you haven't yet. No need to wait because now you have proof that Voodoo Prophet is the real thing, and very prophetable (sorry had to do it).”
