About Veronica: Multi-talented performer and teaching artist Veronica Robles is considered the most authentic representative of Mexican music and culture in New England. Her mission is to promote diversity and to teach about Mexican and Latin-American culture through dance and music.
As a singer Veronica is well known as La Mera, Mera (The Real One). She has had her own Mariachi group based in Boston since 2004, has released five albums, and has performed in venues including The Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. Her repertoire includes traditional Mexican music, her original songs, and other Latin American melodies.
Her singing career started at the cradle of Mariachis the famous Plaza Garibaldi in Mexico City when she was 15 years old. Soon she won the affection of the Mariachi community and the official Mariachi association named her their Goddaughter due to her natural style of singing Mexican songs.
For the past 10 years Ms Robles has created school assemblies and customized interactive educational workshops for teachers and for students of all age groups, providing the opportunity to experience culture through learning traditional dance and music.
Veronica has also produced, sung for, and hosted TV programs in Mexico and, in the U.S,. for major Spanish TV networks such as Azteca, Televisa, Telemundo, Univisión and WGBH.
