Bio: You may stop and wonder where you are when you see the red ropes outside Vudu, an ex-Soho lounge that has reemerged in unlikely Upper East Side digs by nightclub icon Michael Bergos. Beyond the bouncers, red carpet, velvet ropes, and the larger life like metallic doors is a rare Uptown find. Upfront, the exposed brick and padded leather walls are adjacent to a custom art-deco bar. Inside is an all-natural oak dance floor flanked by posh couches and plush pillows. There are go-go dancers found on both the elevated stage and on top of the bar throughout the night. The eclectic touches include: stylish lambskin banquettes with wavy backs, funky sun-shaped mirrors, even vintage tribal masks scattered stylishly. You won't find any beers on tap, but plenty of bottled brews and an abundance of top-shelf liquors to get the party started. With its downtown facade, high tech sound system, and state-of-the-art lighting system that include strobes and an arena hazer, Vudu Lounge has been an urban party-goers destination for 10 years.
