515 S Water St, Providence, RI, US
Bio: The Whiskey Republic (formerly Fish Co.), Providence’s newest hot spot, is in the final stages of an extensive renovation. Business partners include Ken Casey of the internationally acclaimed rock band the Dropkick Murphys and HGTV personality Taniya Nayak, who has also designed The Whiskey Republic. Located at 515 South Water Street on the Providence waterfront in the building formerly occupied by Fish Co., The Whiskey Republic was developed by the team behind popular Boston establishments McGreevy’s 3rd Base Saloon and Revolution Rock Bar. A grand opening celebration for The Whiskey Republic will take place in March. During the renovation, the building has been transformed into a pub-style restaurant and sports bar that blends Irish roots with rock and roll style. The building’s original exposed beam supports, concrete flooring and brick walls have all been restored. In addition, a full-service kitchen has been installed. The bar has been extended, more than 20 high-definition televisions will be added, and the stage has been upgraded to accommodate world-class, live entertainment. Upon opening, The Whiskey Republic will employ approximately 50 full/part time workers.
