579 Dunsmuir St, Vancouver, BC, CA
Bio: The Railway Club is Vancouver’s longest continually operating nightclub, with one of the three licences granted in the province immediately after prohibition. Three distinct rooms make up the second floor space at the corner of Seymour and Dunsmuir Streets. The first, an intimate room when you first enter, hosts music seven nights a week. Over the years the 'Rail' has distinguished itself with some of the most innovative music in town. The Railway Club has been home to the city's best musicians for three decades. This is where k.d. lang got her 'big break' - Spirit of the West got their start here as well. Other bands who have played the Railway include Los Lobos, The Rheostatics, The Tragically Hip, Blue Rodeo, Hard Rock Miners, Barenaked Ladies, Grapes of Wrath and thousands more. The tradition lives on today as new acts as well as current favourites continue to perform at the Railway.
