Bio: Kitchener comes alive on August 5-8, 2010 for the 10th Anniversary of the TD Kitchener Blues Festival. Held over 4 days, 5 stages and over 90 hours of programming, this signature event features some of the best International, National and Regional blues performances. As one of Canada’s fastest growing FREE blues festivals, audiences have the opportunity to experience world class blues performances, exceptional food and hospitable community spirit. As a marquee event in the Waterloo Region and beyond the borders of Ontario, visitors return each year and grow in numbers as the event provides established and cutting edge performances on 5 distinct stage environments. From intimate workshops, unique tented areas and the exceptional main stage, the festival offers something for everyone. The Blues in the Schools in The Children’s Museum and the Blues Camp performance appeal to families and showcase our local youth performers and the Blues Art Exhibit highlights our local artists. The vibrant streetscape is buzzing with a wide assortment of food and craft vendors and activities for the whole family. Throughout the year youth are engaged in the Blues in the Schools program for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. The Legacy Showcase offers youth performance opportunities in Kitchener, Waterloo, Brantford and Guelph as interest is fostered among youth beyond the regional borders.
