Bio: kaleidoscope--a free speech zone is an arts venue. it is NOT a club or a bar. in addition to the pa system kaleidoscope has a lovely 1915 chickering quarter grand piano. it is located in the mission district of san francisco. shows do not run past midnight on weekends, 10:30 on weekdays. the house and the music split the door 50/50. there is no set pay for musicians other than their share of the door. the pa consists of mackie speakers and mixing board and shure mics. there is a sprung wood dance floor. the atmosphere is intimate and homey. capacity is dependent to some degree on the show. seated capacity is about 50 and standing can run to about 100
