Bio: Windy City’s longest-running New Year’s Eve bash is returning to the chic InterContinental Chicago O’Hare (5300 N. River Road, Rosemont). Ring in 2012 with a flute of champagne in your hand and rock in your soul, as the Old 97s headline another epic night of music mayhem. From 8:00 pm until 2:00 am, guests of the 15th annual New Year’s Eve Rock ‘N’ Roll Ball will take flight into 2012, enjoying the best deal in the city or suburbs. Make sure to smile for the camera…all of Chicagoland will be tuned in as ABC 7 Chicago broadcasts its “Countdown Chicago” New Year’s Eve program live from the Rock ‘N’ Roll Ball! The momentous occasion includes live music from Old 97s, Hairbangers Ball, Cathy Richardson Band, Imposter Radio and DJ Roland, a four hour open bar package, and the convenient option of taking a short (and safe) elevator ride home! Unlike other New Year’s Eve celebrations, the Rock ‘N’ Roll Ball gives guests a variety of different environments to explore and connect with – creating a truly unique experience. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Ball features original, national touring acts in the main ballroom, iconic cover bands in the second ballroom, and an authentic nightclub experience in the third ballroom. “My number goal in booking entertainment is to reflect the strengths of the city, culture and people,” says executive producer Tom Neubauer of Big Creek Productions. “This event is special in that it offers three diverse parties, under one roof, for one ticket. It has something for everyone!” About the Music: Avendon Ballroom Chicago’s signature New Year’s Eve celebration boasts entertainment on three stages headlined overall this year by alt-country pioneers, Old 97s, in the Avendon ballroom. A barrelhouse act heralded as a great live band, the Old 97s are renowned for big guitars and high-octane beats. The long-running quartet, helmed by raucous frontman Rhett Miller, gets their highs from kicking up the volume and kicking up the jams. Fresh off their new album, The Grand Theatre, Volume Two, these Texas boys are first in line to bring the heat at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Ball. The opener is Cathy Richardson & the Macrodots. The venerable, Grammy-nominated Richardson has also been the lead singer of legendary classic rock band Jefferson Starship since 2008. Cassatt Ballroom Swift, brave and utterly hard core, Chicago’s own 80s rhythmic riders-of-the-night, Hairbangers Ball, headlines the Cassatt Ballroom. The mystical band roams the country offering up primeval hymnals of Poison, Guns 'n Roses, Def Leppard, Mötley Crüe and Bon Jovi – just to name a few. The opening act is Chicago’s definitive rock cover band, Imposter Radio. The band’s catalog contains massive hit songs from just about every era of the history of Rock & Roll, seamlessly flowing from gritty 60′s rave-ups, through 80′s dance pop, 90′s rock anthems and today’s current chart-toppers. Montrose Room DJ Roland will keep the Montrose Room jumping well into 2012. Named one of Chicago’s “Top 5” suburban bars by Time Out Chicago, the Montrose Room features a state-of-the-art acoustic design and sound system. It’s an authentic Chicago club experience in the suburbs! Visit Montroseroom.com for ongoing weekly shows. About the Tickets: Party Package: $75.
