Bio: Birch Creek Ranch has been the host to top bands in the bluegrass and acoustic music industry including Chris Jones and the Night Drivers (Chris is host of Bluegrass Junction on Sirius Satellite Radio), Kathy Kallick band, The Nashville Mandolin Ensemble featuring Butch Baldassari, Kanes River, Gift Horse and many other nationally recognized bands. It is held in the high desert at Birch Creek Ranch, owned by Russ and Sharron Evans. Past festivals have included camping, workshops, kids events, Norbest Turkey food venues and many programs for all members of the family. Birch Creek Bluegrass Festival was the first festival of its kind to broadcast live video stream, via the internet, thanks to its partnership with Central Utah Telephone (Centracom). Centracom was also responsible for the permanent stage now named the Tony Polychronis/Centracom High Desert Stage. Tony Polychronis was the Old Man of KRCL whose commitment to music and bluegrass in the great state of Utah, inspired the Birch Creek Bluegrass Festival. Founding members include Russ Evans of Blue Mountain Mule and formally the founding member of Gift Horse, Blaine Nelson of Cold Creek and founding member of Gift Horse, Sharron Evans of Blue Mountain Mule, Alissa Rae Evans King of the Alissa Rae Band and Aimee Evans Hickman. Other important partners were, Steven R Jensen, former President of Norbest Turkey, Tony Polychronis/The Old Man/KRCL, CentraCom, Eddie Cox, Mayer Dean Hansen, Monte Bona of the Mormon Heritage Highway along Highway 89, the Utah Arts Council, Eric Brunvand and Steve Lutz.
