Tripp Smythe / Press

“Review from a fan- Mariandrea Jane Doty Wow! Totally different ride with each song, interestingly, I'm emotionally attracted to 'Origin Unknown', that particular one is quite comfortable to rest in and coast. I fully enjoyed 'Wake Up! Crazy World for many reasons, but the up~to~date topics and messages is my favorite reason. Smooth, man. I appreciate every mood flow of the album, even the playful energy found in 'Alien' (: I am so looking forward to sitting with your new stuff.”

"Alien" - Tripp Smythe got some potential going on here, its got a catchy tripping vibe. edgy tidy tight piece of work, and a repeating hi note guitar part that jumps out frequently throughout the track but thats the artists intent, it gets to you one way or another so achieved its end, driving and catchy in the chorus decent vox and has an edge added to station 12/8/2010 6:58:50 PM

"All The Pieces" - Hard hitting wicked piece of searing tunage sure to capture your ear and turn your heads, done up with some interesting vocals too, good bgs, its a kinda melodic trip, some sweet shredding going on, just there, tasty shots, powerful groove big percussion. snapping quick end, good one

“HILLBILLY PROPHET - Re-Align The Lines Rating: 6 stars "Hillbilly Prophet is probably the most unlikely artist you'll expect to hear in 2009...the band blends blues based rock n roll with modern sounding rock & elements of folk to boot...the guitar heavy songs are mildly retro in sound, it's stuff you're not likely to hear most artists on the scene today covering, & at the core of this cd, this band really captures the rawest essence of rock n roll...I'd call it an amped up version of the Rolling Stones if I had to describe it in one phrase. Tripp, the bands principal song writer/singer/guitarist, has played on the same stage as both Johnny Winter & Alice in Chains..how's that for diversity?!? Artistically, this is a very indulgent disc, there's nothing too commercial, no love songs, no sell outs, it's all rock n roll played from the heart.”
