“ROCKWALL — Blaine and Brady Mitchell look like your average college-age students. They drive a large, white pick-up truck, with some front-end damage sustained during a trip to West Texas. “I don’t think we’ll be going out there again any time soon,” Blaine said with a smile. Perhaps it is best if they stay closer to home. After all, the Rockwall natives have seen recent success with their Alternative rock outfit, the Treeside. They signed with a New York-based management company, won a recent radio contest that landed Blaine a spot singing beside Toby Keith at the Gexa Energy Pavilion in September in front of 20,000 people, and shared backstage at the House of Blues with Awolnation and Imagine Dragons (David Amezcue of Awolnation will also be playing on their next record). They will be heading to California in late January to cut a new record with guitarist Ethan Kaufmann of Wild Party and Aaron Sterling, the drummer for John Mayer.”
“Treeside recently performed in Forney at Hometown Christmas, delighting the crowd with a blend of country, rock, and Christmas tunes. Previously known as BMB, the Rockwall band and their lead singer, Blaine Mitchell, left many in the audience with the feeling that they would some day soon hear the talented bunch on the radio. Before that happens, Treeside agreed to answer some questions for inForney.com about how they got their start and where they want to take their music. Treeside consists of lead singer/guitar player/songwriter Blaine Mitchell, his younger brother Brady Mitchell on drums, Bryson Funk brings rhythm guitar and background vocals, and David Darnell playing bass, Jon Franks lead guitar, and providing additional background vocals is Bradleigh Ann. Brady and Blaine have played together for over a decade, which says a lot since Blaine is only 21 years old and Brady is just 18. The brothers grew up in Rockwall and got hooked on bands like Switchfoot.”
“Seventy-nine Texans put their talent on the line and nine brought home top honors—including Blaine Addison Mitchell of Rockwall—after traveling more than 1,000 miles to perform in front of entertainment industry scouts in Orlando, Fla., this month. Participants completed more than 50 hours of preparation before performing at “SHINE”, a bi-annual talent showcase bringing together aspiring actors, models, singers and dancers with 80 of the industry’s top talent scouts, studio casting directors, agents and music producers. “AMTC provided me with the experience of a lifetime,” said 19-year-old Mitchell who won Overall Group Performance. “The preparation I received prior to arriving at SHINE really paid off. I received 18 callbacks from interested agents, managers and casting directors and am considering my best options for representation. I’m excited to start my career as a singer/songwriter and I thank God for AMTC and their help.””
